This is me.
My name is Kristina and my "working vacation" began in 2012 when I moved to Germany to teach.

While working in Germany, I traveled throughout Europe. When the pandemic caused my employers to lay off or close down in 2020, I was "lucky to live Hawai'i" and moved to the island of Oʻahu for two years. My current home is in northern Japan, not far from the snowiest city in the world.
Living in a different country has been a lifelong dream, and a goal I've been blessed to realize. Wherever I go, I'm not usually there very long, however, because of a constant yearning to see and do new things. Often!
All of life can be a vacation when we enjoy it mindfully and relish what we're doing, living our best lives. No matter where I am and what I'm doing for W O R K (four-letter word), I consider myself to be on a sort of vacation, taking pictures, taking walks, seeing the sights.
Moving around a lot, I try to learn as much as I can about where I am while taking the best care of myself, experiencing new things, and becoming part of the culture to which I'm being introduced. There are so many new places, foods, traditions, and people to discover.
Some of what I've experienced is reflected on these pages. Feel free to leave your comments and feedback. And don't forget to join my e-mail list to get stories and posts delivered straight into your inbox! Also, I publish shorter posts on Instagram and Facebook, so you can look for "vacationing news" there.
